Things have not gone so well over the last week. I caught a cold during the last week. I am home trying to recover from it. Right now the cold is only affecting my head so I should be good to train this week though only at lighter effort. Note to self: Perhaps some warmer running clothes are in order now that it is colder outside especially while recovering from this cold.
I also seem to have picked up a slight knee injury. There is a slight pain outside of my right knee when I put weight on it. The pain goes away after a couple of days of rest so I should be fine (crossing my fingers, knocking on wood). I've been icing the knee and hopefully it should feel better with some rest.
It appears to have coincided when I switched to a new pair of running shoes two weeks ago. I bought a new pair of Mizuno Renegades. My old Renegades are also giving me trouble too. At this rate a switch to my other running shoe, the Brooks Addiction appears to be in order.
I wonder if my running gait has changed significantly over the last six months? I run in heavy motion control type shoes because that was what I needed six months ago. I've done research and it's sort of uncommon for my feet structure (I have fairly high arches). It's not something I want to mess with during the next month but food for thought.
